Apparently got a wart several years ago in a large cut on my thumb. For years, I though it was just scar tissue. After being convinced it was a wart, I tried the at-home treatments, only to have it spread all over my hand (apparently caused by HPV.)

Dermatologist tried several treatments of freezing, to no avail. Finally, he repeatedly jammed needles under my fingernails to numb them, then burned them out with what appeared to be a miniature electric ice-cream scoop.
