What's your favorite type of bread?

I had bread from here (3 cheese) for dinner with a salad last night, it was delicious. I forgot how good bread could be when its baked right.

so what's your favorite kind of bread? where is it from?

really FRESH crusty french baguettes still warm with honey butter

A rustic rye bread made from freshly (and coarsley) ground rye and a natural sourdough starter cooked in a traditional clay hearth oven. Then add some garlic and olive oil... they made it at this hippy art festival called Bread & Puppet.

just bread it's hard to beat French bread.

any kind of hot out of the oven bread is better than it is later.

And for prepared breads, it's hard to beat garlic bread, hot, buttery, and toasty !


btw, some kinds of cheese bread are even more delicious when toasted too.

Good bread is better later than it is out of the oven. If you have crappy, bland white bread it's only good fresh out of the oven.

I can't think of any kind of bread where what you say is correct. Give an example, please. Maybe not right out of the oven, but while it is still warm, I mean.

I can't think of any kind of bread where what you say is correct. Maybe not right out of the oven, but while it is still warm, I mean.

With good bread it is best to wait at least three hours after the bread comes out of the oven for the crumb to settle and stabilize. You got a more consistant and pleasing texture and a better flavor. However, with crappy bread you might as well eat it fresh out of the oven because it's never going to taste very good. At least eating it fresh gives you that satisfaction.

does anyone eat bread with oil? what kind do you use? olive, canola, etc..? It seems a little healthier than using butter or margerine.
