Scorpion Roll.

It's a softshell fried shrimp with eel sauce. I love eel sauce.

Personally I like pickle sushi ... although I have to make it myself because nobody sells it. They just don't know what they're missing out on ..

Just had some sushi. Eel rolls are great because of the sauce. Shrimp tempura rolls rock. I tried some octopus rolls for the first time and that was good as well. I pretty much like any sushi that doesn't have cream cheese (the taste overpowers everything else).

Wow...my thread resurfaced...

I'm not big on the cream cheese rolls, either, but I can eat them on occasion. Realistically, though, I will pretty much try any sushi, too.

I wanted to make the same thread but used the search and saw that your thread isn't THAT old.

Las Vegas roll -- shrimp tempura with cream cheese and urchin, wrapped in rice and topped with tuna and yellowtail and covered with some kind of awesome sauce. Rainier rolls are good too.

My favorite rolls are called Dynamite with Avocado. It's tuna and avocado with some spicy sauce on the inside, and it's rolled in tempura crumbs. California comes in second.

trip to tokyo they had this huge tuna on a bed of ice (including the head with its eyes looking back at you, yikes)

you go up to this bar and the chef cuts some 1/4" slice of this chilled tuna, dips it in what I think was salt and sesame seed oil and then wraps it in dried seaweed paper.

I'm not into raw fish but that was the best sushi roll I've ever had.

This may sound utterly retarded but what's the difference when hand rolled and not.

It's a reference to how the roll is eaten. You would hold a hand roll and bite it, instead of eating cut up pieces.

it's not hand ROLLED.. it's hand roll, they're ally hand rolled... a hand roll is a role in a "cone" of seaweed.. the regular rolls are the cylindrical rolls...

Hand rolls look like little cones.. Text. Regular sushi rolls are just round like this.

I'm more into the simple ones.

Salmon or tuna on rice, with some soy sauce, a bit of ginger between each bite, that's it.
