I realized I need to make a salad thread to balance out the chili cheese frie thread. Or else I will be promoting the next generation of ATOT fatties

You didnt have a "whatever salad is available" option. Seriously about the only time i eat salad is when ive had a few drinks so really could careless what kind it is

My favorite "standard" salad is caeser, preferably with grilled chicken.

But there's this one salad with dried cranberries, apple, and candied pecans with a vinaigrette dressing that I like a lot.

I prefer the Wedge Salad. You need to add this to the poll. Nothing better than a poll in the wedge, or is that a wedge in the poll.

Greek, especially from the local diner. Big chunks of feta, stuffed grape leaves, and anchovies; Delicious.

Greek.

Didn't even look above me, we seem to agree on several things 🙂

Yeah have a local one makes great ones myself, but usually have most of the stuff and a big chunk of feta in the fridge most of the time.

I love em with potato salad in the middle too, though I guess not really technically the right way.

No option for all of the salads listed. 🙁

I use a light rice vinegar (Nakano) that helps bring out the flavor of the ingredients

I do like just chopping a wedge for steak with Blue cheese and bacon and cheese and tomatoes, but Greek the favorite.

Waldorf

I don't know why you guys feel the need to distinguish between what is pretty much exactly the same thing. Anything with raw green leafy things in it is pretty much a conventional salad to me.

We're going to be in your neck of the woods next month and that sounds delicious.

Which diner?

DoubleT Diner in Belair. It's a (regional?) chain, but the ones I've seen in the area are all Greek owned. You could also try Greektown in Baltimore. I went into one place that didn't look like it was even really in business. Just an old guy behind the counter talking to an old friend of his. I got lamb and pita slices with a Greek salad, and it was awesome; all for $7. Don't know the name of the place. It was just a hole in the wall. I was working in the area, and it looked like a good place for lunch. I've been meaning to go back, and checking it all out on foot, but haven't made the time thus far.

Greek Salad with feta cheese is good stuff. It is exceptionally healthy and reasonable on calories.

My 2nd favorite type would be those served in Japanese restaurants with the Japanese Ginger Miso dressing.

My 3rd favorite is beef salad from the elephant bar restaurants. Basically, cut up slices of beef with green salad. If there was "Kobe beef" salad then I'll be even happier!

On that note, the wife was asking if I wanted to get Chinese, but we're going with the Greek salad for two and a Gyro for her and a Souvlaki for me tonite 🙂

Order inbound.

*edit from reviews* This place seems to make absolutely no effort to find new customers or any tourist trade, as I've never seen a single ad for it anywhere, in spite of it's being near such a large Greek community like Tarpon Springs. But given it's usually full every time I've been there, I'm guessing they don't need any bigger crowds. I had a friend bring me there, and I've taken others there. Nothing better than word-of-mouth advertising.

All this talk of food....
Now I want some Feta cheese omelette with scallops and lobster!
It is high protein which is my diet so I'm not complaining or anything... 🙂
