Jack Nicklaus 6: Golden Bear Challenge

Fantastic game, light years ahead of Links and Tiger Woods, but didn't have the name recognition. I probably played about 500 rounds on that thing (I think it kept track, and after I had reformatted about 2/3 of the way through playing it and it was well over 100).

Had a tight-knit community, good online leagues. (I think one's actually still active with a full four-round tournament a week with 50+ players, and this is almost 5 years after release!) I think I got up to third in the world on the overall ratings in online play once, but never won that big match.

Don't mean to hog the thread but I have another which people should agree with.

Carmageddon (PC)

Perhaps the most out-of-left-field game made in a considerable amount of time. Even though it had quite possibly the worst graphics engine ever it was still fun enough that they made an expansion pack and two sequels. (both of which don't hold up to the original, but are still fun)

Once the third-party 3dfx patch was released it was much more enjoyable. :)

Tron 2.0

Beautiful visuals and audio. Supurb voice-acting. Fantastic gameplay, and decent story. A very enjoyable game.

AKA Tetris Attack? YES! That game OWNS.

if any one here HASNT played Padel de Pon its one of the best puzzle games ever i swear. currently you can only get it for the gamecube. theres a japanese import called Nintendo Puzzle Colletion with doctor mario, padel de pon, and some other puzzle games with updated graphics and multiplayer modes but i havnt seen an america shore release of the title yet. if i had a job i'd buy everybody in the thread a copy; its that good.

Lucasarts Outlaws. Best music of a game ever. Awesome gameplay and multiplay code well before its time.

Also for the sg, Master of Monsters. Classic. Sooooo many hours.
If we're talking Genesys...

Fatal Rewind (Genesys)

So damn addictive, and a good concept too. It's like the earliest version of insta-saves.

Muahaha, right on...both those games kicked ass. I still have river city ransom about 5 feet away from me; dunno whatever happened to mystical ninja, though. Hopefully that's still lying around here somewhere, too.

Edit: btw, those games were for the NES and SNES, respectively.

snes: Aerobiz Supersonic

on pc there used to be a java or flash online version of empire builder that was AWESOME as well. If anyone happens to have access to that code I'd gladly host it for all.

Syberia
Made with the fantastic artwork of Benoit Sokal. A slow paced PC puzzle game.

PS1: Carnage Heart. Herzog Zwei with a twist, you have to program the logic of your forces. Very different.

Also, any of the infocom games other than zork. Planetfall, enchanter, hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, etc.
