LOVE ON THE ROCKS
Neil Diamond
Written by Neil Diamond and Gilbert Becaud

Love on the rocks
Ain't no surprise
Pour me a drink
And I'll tell you some lies
Got nothin' to lose
So you just sing the blues all the time

Gave you my heart
Gave you my soul
You left me alone here
With nothing to hold
Yesterday's gone
Now all I want is a smile

First, they say they want you
How they really need you
Suddenly you find you're out there
Walking in a storm
When they know they have you
Then they really have you
Nothing you can do or say
You've got to leave, just get away
We all know the song

You need what you need
You can say what you want
Not much you can do
When the feeling is gone
May be blue skies above
But it's cold when you love's on the rocks

First, they say they want you
How they really need you
Suddenly you find you're out there
Walking in a storm
When they know they have you
Then they really have you
Nothing you can do or say
You've got to leave, just get away
We all know the song

Love on the rocks
Ain't no surprise
Pour me a drink
And I'll tell you some lies
Yesterday's gone
And now all I want is a smile

One?
It's completely impossible to pick out one Neil song that is my favorite.

I would say Love on The Rocks, or My Louise.

 Neil. He rocked this summer when I saw him live.
Sixty something and still rocks harder than any live act today.

Ps. Thoes who say Neil Diamond sucks, have no fvcking taste.

I'll confess to liking James Taylor and even John Denver (and even having those in my collection), but never Neil Diamond. And yes, it is most certainly a matter of taste. Neil Diamond is the Wayne Newton of pop rock.

He has a new cd, but I don't know if it is released yet. I don't know which is my favorite since I haven't heard them in a while. The ones mentioned so far are good.

In the mod lounge, we have Neil Diamond piped in 24/7. And not just his songs, but Neil rants, Deep Thoughts by Neil, Neil holding forth on all things Neil, and eight hour long real time recordings of Neil snoring and occassionally screaming out startling obscenities while asleep. We think it sets a tone, and it all seems to have a much needed calming effect on the Violently Insane Mod.

I'll bet it keeps the Kinky Mod at a safe distance, too. :p

' There are two types of people in this world: Those who like Neil Diamond, and those who don't. My ex-wife loves him' - Bill Murray in What About Bob.

I sympathize with him.
