What's your favorite mustard for Bratwurst?

I'm throwing a party this next weekend. (My annual Oktoberfest party)

Unfortunatley, I didn't plan ahead and figured I'd be able to get a bulk buy of Beer & Brat mustard from Sam's Club or Walmart. I was unable to find what I was looking for. It got me thinking... If you had to pick a commonly distributed mustard for bratwurst, which brand would you get?

For my party, I actually placed an Amazon Prime order for Roland's Extra Strong Dijon mustard. I had it recently and it goes well with Bratwurst, but isn't the same as Beer & Brat mustard or Inglehoffer, etc...

I'll probably buy some standard spicy brown Guilden's for those who can't stand the heat. :)

mustard? on Brats?

well.. i guess you would need flavor if you get shitty brats..

The Brat should be able to stand on it's own.

It doesnt even need 'buns'

Don't give me that sausage snob crap. You didn't answer my question.

I bought fresh bratwurst from a local supplier this year. Last year I paid double for less bratwurst ( Nürnbergers) and no one noticed they were really good but me. Those brats will still be really good with my german lagers.

I think we've already had a mustard thread. My recollection of that thread was...
Anything with Horseradish and/or Mustard Seeds in it is awesome.
Brown/Spicy mustard is OK if you've got nothing else.
Plain old yellow mustard is just for the wieners (the food and the people).

I've always preferred mustard and kraut on my brats, sue me. Specifically Inglehoffer or that hot stuff from Boar's Head.

I simmer mine in lager and onions for an hour before the light grilling starts. Mmm, now I'm drooling...

That's for the feedback. I don't mind the purists, but when planning a party....you play the least common denominator to be a good host. If you've never had Roland's, it's got a very strong kick to it. It's like a step down from Chinese Mustard and has a really nice pop with the horseradish.

I also know the quality of these brats will probably be one step above the standard stadium brat and will be more like a johnsonville. They're ok for grilling, but certainly not the best for the german food lovers. I just didn't want to drop an extra $80 on sausage that few would appreciate.

Yeah....Budweiser is typically my sacraficial beer. I typically like the bratwurst with kraut or red cabbage on the side. I'll be making red cabbage & german potato salad this Friday night for the party....then a few carrot cakes on Saturday monrning. :D

Beer menu will be my Oktoberfest, Vienna Lager, Munich Helles Lager, and a lighter Pilsner for those who can't stand amber german lagers.

I can't wait.

I tried that and was surprised how lame it was.

I'm distrustful of any item that uses a marketing name that's big, but not for the item being sold. Almost 100% of the time it's a cheap cash grab, and inferior to a native brand.

I know right, now I want to crash that gig. I realize now I can't remember the last time I had good red cabbage, let alone with meat in tube form and all washed down with German beer.

I don't say this to a lot of guys, but Nice Spread! Scarpozzi!

I want a brat and some Vienna right now damnit!

None. Mustard reeks.

I either eat it plain or put some bbq sauce on it.
