I've got about 8 different cpus to test here. Old celerons (66Mhz fsb), newer celerons(100 fsb), old pentium 2s(dunno what fsb), 100 Mhz fsb pentium 3's, 133 mhz fsb P3s.

So... I want to test them for oc'ability, so what I want is a board that will let me play with the fsb as much as possible(from 66 to 150mhz +). I want to buy this board and then turn around a sell it with one of the cpus, so that way I don't have any extra crap around that I don't need(like 10 slot 1 processors).

Thanks

I liked my Asus P3B-F when I was using it... I had it RMA'ed a few months ago and Asus sent me a brand new one. Good stable board.

look for a BE6-2 on ebay or half.com...about $75-$100 bucks...this board has the features you mentioned "over-clockers dream"...

I want something cheap, cuz I wanna turn around and sell it for the same price I paid for it after I am done using it for testing purposed.

I think that the epox board with a p2 350 @ 466 should pull a good $70, basically paying my testing fees. Thats really where I'm trying to go with this.

I just want a board that will allow me to make sure these cpus work, and then see how far I can push them so I can use the max stable clockrate as a figure when I go to sell em. Higher clockrate means < $. And of course I have to get something to make sure they work at all, cuz "These chips might work. I really think they do" - is not a good sales tactic.

If anyone knows a better board (something that will go over 150 Mhz FSB) and can be had for a decent price (under $60) and will re-sell easily in the fs/trade forum here, lmk.

Thanks for the input everyone who put in a suggestion.

Asus P3V4X. Crackin' board, and there always seems to be people looking for them. It'll run anything from lowliest P2 to the 1GHz P3 (never got the opportunity to try the 1.1GHz). i.e. anything but Tualatin except w/Powerleap, and that would defeat the budget point. Get the Asus, believe me, you won't regret it.

ditto on the ASUS P3B-F and P3V4X. But I have to give some props to Abit's BH6. Asus P3V4X was a little buggy at first cause of the VIA drivers, but using it right now with 550E OC to 803 and the board is rock solid now.

soyo sy6ba+iv or sy6ba+100 slot 1 BX board- will need a sloket converter card for newer CPU's

will run FSP CPUs from 66-133 , intel 233mhz p2 up to 1g I believe is the max. One of the top rated BX boards of many hardware sites in before the new intel chipsets were released.

I'm still running a 800MHz P!!! on an ASUS P3B-F. Rock solid. I've had no problems what so ever. I know stability can very from board to board within a series, but with the 440BX chipset it was hard to make a board that was to far out of wack. Plus it doesn't have any value added stuff to get in the way.

Another vote for the Asus P3B, while I've never used that mobo I've run several machines with various versions of P2B (which is older but the same in nearly every way) and it's one of the most stabel mobos I've ever used. My dad still use one with a Celeron333 oc'ed to 416, it has run that way for about 2 years now.
