Yup. Steak chili without beans is pretty good. I tried the Denisons equivalent, but it was awful. Even my dog wouldn't touch it...

Edit: Heh, you posted the same thing in my Shells & Cheese thread.

So what do you eat?

So I just buy Nalley chili, usually Hot.

At $0.68/can, you can't really go wrong.

I don't think I've ever eaten chili from a can, either.

I can vouch for Bush's baked beans, though. Van Hormel's is terrible!

In So Cal, Food-4-Less stores carry Weinersnitchel(sp?) Chili in a can. I don't like stuff in my chilli, this includes beans, onions, and chunks of anything else that isn't beef. Dennisons is pretty good, especially if you add some hot sauce. Hormel is way too thin, I like thick chilli.

the canned Weinersnitchel is pretty good smothered over some fries. I wanna order some canned chilli from Skyline, a midwest chain that is supposed to have some awesome chilli.

Maybe that hormel stuff that uses some of the most unlean meat you can possibly get. But other than that, it's actually one of the more healthy things you can order from a restaurant or buy in a can...that's actually filling.

Lots of fiber and protien packed into a pretty small volume = fills you up quicker. It's very low calorie for the volume and while being somewhat fatty depending on the quality of hamburger in it, it's not as bad as most alternatives. High fiber, high protien, low calorie = win.

As for the question, its not canned per se, but it's pre-packaged. I've been eating a lot of the Campbells Chunky Firehouse chilli.

Homemade venison chili is the best. Canned is ok once in a great while. My mother-in-law's idea of gourmet cooking is pouring canned chili over fritos and putting packaged shredded cheese on top. Bleh.
