There have only been like 2. The David Lynch Hollywood version in 1984 (AWFUL special effects for the time) with Sting in the role of Feyd-Rautha, Patrick Stewart as Gurney Halleck, and Kyle MacLachlan as Paul. There's also a director's cut you can get off various websites that sell foreign prints of movies, that makes the movie more watchable and closer to the book. It's still messed up.

The other version was Space's mini-series in 2000 and its subsequent director's cut. I thought that one was much better, even if it's budget shows through here and there.

There was talk about a version in 1973 but by all accounts it's a good thing it was scrapped, or it would be more laughable than the animated LOTR.

I never saw the neverending story or Dark Crystal. I guess I'll have to add those to my must see list. WHen did the Conan movie come out?
Wow! You must be quite a bit older (or younger) as those were pretty much staples for a childhood in the 80s. I loved Neverending Story, though never really got into Dark Crystal. Puppet movies had basically a golden age during the 80s.

And the Conan movies came out 1982 (Barbarian) and 1984 (Destroyer). You can get the collector's edition DVD set with both movies for peanuts now.

DUNE(the movie):very good, Dune(the 2 mini series):faithful to the books... The Matrix... Started very strong, the last one was a bit weak... there are a lot more good sci-fi movies out there and a lot of bad ones too...
Is it only me that didn't like Gattaca and Enemy mine???

Ah yes, Enemy Mine is a great one.

The Arrival - Great Charley Sheen flick I haven't seen listed yet.

The Last Starfighter (kinda corny now, though)

Terminator I --> The subsequent ones don't even come close to topping it.

The first two Star Wars

They Live (I loved the last scene where the aliens were exposed as to what they really were while interacting with humans)
