What's your favorite discontinued fast food item?

4/$1 mcdonalds hamburgers. In the 90's, in dickinson, tx anyway.

Not exactly what you're asking, more of a "I remember when a bottle of milk was a nickel" angle.

I'm asking what your favorite food at a restaurant was before they stopped serving it. Also I'm 23 so nothing has ever been just a nickel for me 🙁

(edit)^oh wow, so I didn't effectively communicate either point (acknowledging I was OT, & that I was the one coming from that "remember when everything was a nickel" perspective)!

Okay more on topic, I haven't eaten there in a while, but a few years ago taco bell had a grilled/stuffed burrito that had a chipotle sauce they couldn't keep in stock- there was much borrowing among locations of it just so everyone could make it, and they often couldn't.

So given that you'd assume it was popular enough to justify keeping around, but they discontinued it shortly after.

Someone correct me if it's since returned.

I'll go back for that one.

A&W is the most underrated fast food chain.

I've never considered them fast food, since I don't know of any A&W's near me that serve food like a fast food chain. The A&W's I have been to have a waitress and they bring your food to you. One of them I visit only has outside dining too, or they can bring your food to your car like an old 60's drive in style restaurant. It's also way more expensive than the usual fast food chains in my experience.

BK offers them on occasion, but I really like the Rodeo burger. Basically a cheese burger with an onion ring and BBQ sauce on it. They used to be on the $1 menu.

Yeah, I liked the rodeo burgers.

They still have Rodeo burger everywhere, even if you don't see it on the menu.

Man, BK was my first job in HS, when Rodeo burger was introduced, they sold like hot cakes.

It's just plain cheese burger with 3 onion rings + BBQ sauce. So any BK can make it no matter what. And their PoS register machine has it too.

I really miss BK's creepy King mask marketing. Their deadpan humor really hit the note with the young demographics 7-8 years ago and it was a HUGE success.

Taco Bell's Mexi-nuggets. They were just seasoned tater tots, but they were delicious.

Monster Tacos from Jack N The Box, the regular ones are good but the Monster ones were just better. Was a sad day when they discontinued them.

I'd have to go Big n Tasty' for ones I can't get anymore.

I miss the $1 Sauasge McGriddles though.. they're now like $3.

Another addition - BK chicken fries. WTF happened to those?? 🙁

They gone! Haven't seen them in a couple years at least.

I like the Rodeo Cheeseburgers from BK, too bad they are $1.90 now or something like that. Way better when they were only $1.25 😀 Or back when the double cheese from McD was only $1, now those bastards want $1.50 :colbert: McDouble just doesn't cut it, I need my 2nd slice of fake cheese :awe:

Another addition - BK chicken fries. WTF happened to those?? 🙁

I remember when they first hit in the early 80s (before the chicken fries name) and they were really awesome. BK actually put black pepper on them before people became pussies and said they were too spicy. Probably why Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich aint spicy anymore.

WTF? People don't like Wendy's fries? I think they're awesome, maybe even better than McDonald's. Sea salt + skins on = WIN.

I really wish McDonald's would bring back their Cheddar Melt. And Taco Bell their nacho cheese gorditas.
