making it at home -- 8 O'Clock coffee, 2 packets of splenda and a little bit of creamer

on the road -- McDonalds is probably my favorite to-go coffee stop. usually just ask for cream and sugar since they tend to mess up anything more specific.
 
Lots of recommendation for 8 o'clock... I'll have to try it.

At home, I almost always have Dunkin Donuts (I probably have at least two 1lb bags sealed at any given time so I don't run out), with Tim Horton's on the side. Currently I also have a bag of Maker's Mark Bourbon coffee... if you're a fan of bourbon and coffee, I highly highly recommend it. I don't drink it all the time because it is expensive comparatively, but it makes for a great treat. I drink all my coffee black.

BTW, I use a grinder and french press at home if you consider that a factor.

Colombian Peaks is my favorite one, though we usually have a couple types around.

Still have yet to try their French Roast.

I like Eight O'Clock as well. BTW, the name of the country is Colombia. Coffee from Colombia is called "Colombian Coffee".
 
Whatever is the most reasonable price, call me a heathen or whatever but I can't tell much difference between the vast majority of coffees or the various hardware means of making it.

I enjoy darker roast coffees. Usually Columbian or french roast 8 O'clock.

So... you posted a link confirming exactly what he said.
Light roast coffee has more caffeine measured by volume than dark roast. So, assuming you are using a scoop of some sort to measure your brew you will get a cup with more caffeine if you are going with a light roast.
From your link (you bolded/underline the wrong part):
So if you measure your coffee using a scoop, then yes, you’re getting more caffeine when you used a Light Roast because more beans can fit in that scoop. However, if you weigh your coffee (like most coffee pros) the caffeine content should be the same.
 
It's not great or anything, but it's fairly economical, available everywhere, and is eminently drinkable.

yeah, I'd say it fits the perfect happy medium between taste and cost.

it's probably not what I'd use if my goal were making the absolute best cup of coffee possible, but it's pretty good to use to make my daily pot.

We usually pick up a few different whole bean bags when they are 2 for 1 at Publix.

Whole Foods is supposed to have a very highly rated in house brand, but there isn't one very near us.

I don't drink the stuff (like at all!), but I've ordered Kona Coffee from some coffee farm on the Big Island (Hawaii)... just to make awesome shortbread cookies! :biggrin:

Having tried Honolulu Cookie Company's assortment of cookies, they totally gyp people of the amount of key ingredients (i.e. macadamia nuts, Kona Coffee) they put in their cookies. :thumbsdown:
 
I buy the excellent brand from AH (Ahold). If i may believe it, the coffee beans are imported from Ethiopia. The coffee has a very nice flavor. I love it.

I'd have to question whether one can even taste the difference between 100% Kona and a Kona blend once it's in cookie form.

I prefer this stuff. I'm not even Vietnamese it's just so good made by drip or in a french press with sweetened condensed milk.

I called the farm, told the owner what I was planning to do with it (make cookies) and she suggested a particular one (pretty sure it's not a blend).
 
I drink tea at home, never coffee. A couple times a week I go to Starbucks for coffee. I drink the dark roast. No sugar. No milk or cream. I'm kind of neutral about their coffee, but my favorite is their Thanksgiving Blend. Unfortunately that's not available for very long. Really I don't go there so much for the coffee, but because it is the only public place I am comfortable bringing my laptop. Also the hours are pretty convenient.

When I go to my cousins' home for holidays, I am treated with a shot of espresso, as they have a very good machine. I drink that black as well, though I like my espresso cut with Sambuca. I tend to go easy on the latter. At least compared to other guests.
 
Bought my wife an espresso machine for Christmas, and we found that Illy is a very delicious coffee brand. Definitely our current favorite.

However, I don't drink that during the work week, so while I'm at work I'll drink whatever. Usually it's the 3-pounds-for-$10 Kirkland brand from Costco. Excellent value in my opinion.

The wife is the tea fanatic in our house.

She still swears by Salada's Tea, she grew up drinking it, though we have a few others around.

I grew up my Grandmother loving Bigelow Constant Comment with a small fresh orange peel and honey, I remember being young and her making that for us.

I mentioned that to the wife and she has some around she uses now and again.

To each their own. I can't drink ice coffee or ice tea. I like my tea or coffee piping hot.

I prefer Darjeeling black tea, also no cream or sugar. When I can find it, I like St Dalfour Organic. When I want something without caffeine, my go to is Celestial Seasonings Cinnamon Apple Spice.
