Whats your favorite boardgame (non mainstream)?

Me and some friends have been playing wierd games latley that we find collecting dust at hobby shops. Anyone know of any "hidden treasures" that are a lot of fun to play, or even just any game in general? We just hung out this weekend and played games like: Samuri Swords, Wiz-War, RoboRally, Lord of the rings...was a lot of fun.

Chess. Personally, I don't think there any real mainstream board games. Since when do people think board games are "cool"?

I was always partial to World In Flames, though it can take a few months to get through a game. For quick and fun action, Nuclear War/Escalation/Proliferation or Hacker/Hacker II are fun, of course neither of those is really a board game, since neither has a board. I have an entire bookshelf full of the old Avalon Hill games, but don't get much of a chance to play any of them any more.

So many games, so little time...

Settlers of Catan
Ursuppe
Ohne Furcht Und Adel
Tikal
Age of Rennaisance
DragonMaster
Carcassonne
Star Wars: The Queen's Gambit
Tichu
any of the "Mystery Rummy" series of games
Z-G
Web of Power
San Marco
Programmer's Nightmare
GOOTMU
Drakkon
Mage Knight: Dungeons
Dia De Las Muertas
Bohnanza
Cosmic Encounter
Dune
Tigris and Euphrates

Take your pick 🙂

By mainstream he means games you can readily find in stores like KMart and KayBee. Monopoly, Risk and Candyland are "mainstream."
Games that generally come with broken English instructions translated from German are less mainstream 🙂
Mage Knight: Dungeons is kinda mainstream, but not enough people are playing it 🙂

What about boardgames me and my little brothers made up on our own out of stuff we find around the house? Are those considered mainsteam
