Aside from "wrong froum" I usually wait until I have a need to do something then find a program that does it. I'm not so bored that installing random programs I have no use for will brighten my existence.
(Of course I am apparently bored enough to post 10 times a day on AT, but that's different.)
Yes, PowerDesk is excellent - there is a free download version available at http://www.v-com.com but the full version has the premium features - DnD FTP, multi-format file viewers, etc.
