I would love a GT2, 430 Scuderia, or Ariel Atom 300. I don't care if there are some other cars that are a bit faster or flashier, those cars just do it for me.

1963 Corvette split window coupe!

About 25 years ago, had a chance to buy one. Cherry. Only $12 thousand! Should've sold my soul to the devil himself for that one!! :brokenheart:

I think mine would be a '58 vette or a Shelby Cobra.

Why hasn't anyone ever copied the tach/speedo set up of those early vettes??? They were concentric. Watching one going though the gears was mesmerizing. I'm sure the reason they dropped it was it was too mechanically complex, but doing it now-a-days with slightly different colored LEDs would be uber cool.

Make them larger and half circles and I would be sold.

Well since I already have an 02 Camaro SS, it would have to be a 67 Chevelle SS 396. Powder blue of course.

GT-R. Preferably one of the older models... like the R34, but it'd probably be easier to find a street legal 2008 😛.

One of the new Corvette ZR-1's. This isn't too far fetched in a few years when they are used and more common.

More unrealistically - Mercedes McLaren SLR, Saleen S7 Twin Turbo.

They will never be "common." They're releasing VERY limited numbers of 'em. Last one I saw went for $40,000 over the sticker price from a dealer.

I know it, hence the "more" common. 🙂 By that I mean it won't be like Saleen S7, or Koenigsegg as far as rarity. Even used the ZR1's will be spendy, but not nearly as much as brand new (hopefully!). I'll just stick a generation behind (currently have C5 Z06), because that seems to be the only time I can afford them. I'll let the rich people take the initial price hit. 🙂

Who knows. I suppose I COULD settle for a used C6 Z06 with the 427... :Q

On a related note: Can anyone honestly say with 100% confidence what model an Aston Martin would be if it drove by them? The Vantage, Vanquish, DB9, are *so* similar.

I'm with you, they all look so similar. They race 2 different AM's in the American LeMans series in two different classes and I can't tell which is which.

I have the same problem with most 911s.. 😱

Here they are:

1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 (like the one in the original 'Gone in 60 Seconds')
1987 Aston Martin V8 Vantage (007's ride in 'The Living Daylights')
1966 Ferrari 500 Superfast (saw this @ the Imperial Palace in Vegas, absolutely stunning)

However, my #1 dream car is definitely a 1982 DeLorean DMC-12. I know it has an awful engine and it handles like crap, but I always loved seeing it in the Back to the Future movies. If I ever got the money, I'd buy one and get someone to help me drop in a Porsche 911 engine (like they did in the movie, since the DeLorean is rear-engined) and redo the suspension to Colin Chapman's original Lotus-tuned design.

Do you like mid range or top end?

I like the top end of my LS1, but I also liked the mid range of the LS6. I'm assuming the LS2 is top end like my LS1? I haven't found one locally that I've been interested in. The only problem with top end is that I don't get to wind it out much with all the traffic. With GM dropping prices, the used LS7's are dropping fast too. I'm tempted to try to hold out for one of them, but I want one now...
