What's your current card and when do you plan your next upgrade?

Currently running 4GB Sapphire HD Radeon 5970 Toxic Edition. Since I game at 1080p I am more than happy with it for another 16
Months or so Im estimating, or more. I can max everything out except Crysis.

At this point we might be 1-2 yrs from finally playing crysis maxed on a single video card

5770 and I'll upgrade after the next batch of consoles is released most likely. Cos thats when new games that actually tax modern graphics cards will be released. Until there just isnt much point.

Didn't Microsoft say something along the lines that the next 360 successor won't be out till 2015 due to the popularity and demand of current generation?

Long time for a 5770. Crossfirin that 5770 later would be cheap

Hopefully crysis 2 is as system friendly as first one

I picked up a Radeon 4850 512MB for $95 in December 2008 and plan to hold onto it for a while. I have a CRT and am not afraid to lower the resolution. Some games still give me 1920x1080 on high and I take them when I can. Otherwise I have no problem with 1360x768 or even 1280x720 to get better performance without dropping the graphics settings below high.

I won't upgrade until sometime in 2012 at the earliest. Consoles have slowed down the video card requirements enough that my 4850 is fine. Perhaps when it can't do games 1280x720 at all medium settings I'll pick up a replacement.

i have 3x4850's in tri-fire.... not planning to upgrade until i get close to 2x the performance out of a single card.

GTX 460 1GB SLI (both at 800 mhz). I won't need anything else for some time. I went up to these from a 4890 and I don't think there was much reason to even do that. 😛

I have a 6850 on the way. Don't know when I'll upgrade after that as I don't have as much interest in games as I used to.

I just downgraded my 5970 to a 5870, and thinking of selling that and going with a GTX580. Not sure yet if I want to though.

I have a 5870.. and Im skipping the 5xx series and the 6xxx series, my next card will probably be a 7xxx card or 6xx one.

Hell, I'm still using an 8800GTS 640, and TBH I'm not struggling to run the games I play at 19x12.

I will upgrade soon, however I do keep prevaricating. First it was going to be a 5850, then a gtx460. Now I'm waiting on the GTX560 or the 6950.🙄

Problem is I wait awhile, get distracted and buy something else.

While waiting for the 5850 I got bored and setup a windows home server instead. Waiting on the 460 I got a laptop instead. I have a feeling I'll end up gettin a couple of SSD's instead of the 560/6950. :$

9600GSO 768 SLI. SLI is actually disabled because SC2 doesn't seem to play nice with it.

I'll buy a new card when a game comes out that actually warrants a new card (unlikely) or when I get tired of using DVI->VGA and an audio splitter to connect the comp to my TV/receiver in addition to my monitor/pc speakers.

Probably in another couple months because I have graphics card A.D.D.
Recent history:gtx 280 sold and got a 5850. Sold 5850 for a 5870. Returned 5870 back to newegg because dvi ports not working only hdmi worked. Then got a gtx 470. Sold gtx 470 and used a gtx 460 768mb from my 2nd computer. About to remove the gtx 460 and make room for the gtx 480 I just bought. So current card will be the gtx 480 and I'll upgrade whenever my a.d.d. kicks in again.

4850 512mb, want Double Precision for Milkyway, so if I need a new Card in the next 6 months, I'll probably get a 5850 if still available. Otherwise I'll be waiting for the 69xx's to get in the $200 range. I'm hoping the card lasts at least another year. So far it continues to game just fine.

480SLI currently, I may upgrade to 6970CF if it is a good 20% faster than 580SLI, otherwise waiting till 28nm cards next year.

Same deal as you with Crysis, I don't think it can be done with a steady 60fps at my resolution on any setup though. It's playable but not close to 60fps steady.

Recently upgraded an 8800GTS 512 in another machine to a 6870, huge increase in performance.

Video card market is /snore

Been sitting on 40nm for what seems to be forever.

As per my sig, 6850. I'll probably keep it for at least another year.

I purchased a GTX280 11-08, but ended up having to sell most of that build and settle for my current 9800GTX+. I'm debating grabbing a cheap GTX460 1GB now or waiting for a GTX560.

I have a 4870/1G. I generally don't upgrade unless I get about double or more performance for a reasonable price (~$300), so I'll be waiting for Southern Islands or GTX 6xx. Given how much gaming I do, 4870 is more than enough for me at 1920x1200...
