Using the term "American Dream" generically, not just for US forum members.
The generic American dream used to be a house with a white picket fence, a wife, a car, two kids and a dog, maybe a tv set, and it was generally attainable.
So my question is: what generally attainable goal do you have for your life that, if you were to reach it, would define your success and mostly happy life?
For me, already married to a great guy, it would be us having some acreage in Northern California, animals (goats, donkeys, dogs, rabbits, chickens, maybe a cow), gardens, building a nice house and being able to make good food and wine to share with friends. It's probably attainable; I prefer rural areas to settle in long term, and we're making the short term sacrifices of living in an urban area and working our tails off to save towards our dream.
