im trying to get cable from my brother and i have these parts

1.linksys 5 port 10/100 auto-senceing hub
2.two linksys lan cards but i think that 1 or more is dead verson 2
3.twenty five foot rj45 350mhz speed

the problem is that my computer nows that the lan card is in there but when we try to install the drivers it has an error.

is the card bad or the driver or what

we tryed the drivers it came with and 2 form the linksys website

should i just get like a cheap linkeys for 14 from newegg.com or what?

What kind of error do you get? Does the hub detect the NIC? Did you try using your brother's NIC in your system?
 
win2k says that it found a newer driver then it it says error then it doesnt go any farther

the device manager detects it but it wont install

and my brother well lets say hes on 24-7
 
Try moving the NIC into a different slot and have the OS redetect the card. Then try your drivers. If still no go then try another card. Installing a network card is pretty straight forward... if your having this much problem, you may have a bad card.
