What's WRONG with Nexus mods???

I have 3 computers, 2 of them for games. I CANNOT download Skyrim mods from Nexus...slow and slower. Just getting on to the site takes forever, and once on it takes forever to navigate.🙁 Not that I can't download, but one small download takes 10 minutes? Have used Nexus before with no issues.

Anyone else having problems like this?

I think it's just the holidays and they're getting hammered.

I picked up Fallout NV yesterday and its been a PITA logging in and downloading mods via the Nexus Mod Manager. Apparently they performed a database upgrade earlier in the month and the residual effects are still being felt weeks later.

I ended up downloading all of the mods manually and then activating them via the Mod Manger and it was much faster and ran into no problems so far.

This is basically what I did a while back too. Save the files on my media drive too, so I don't have to redownload 30GBs of stuff every time I nuke my Skyrim folder.

I tried downloading Falkaar mod a couple of days ago and it was pretty slow for me too. I'm guessing it's just because it's holidays.

/shrug the sites always slow for me.

Even on it's best days, it's slow. On it's bad days, it's nigh unusable.

Other than profile feature, what are the benefits of Mod Organizer over NMM?

I only play one playthrough at a time so having the ability to switch mod setup doesn't mean too much to me.

Does mod isolation help with anything outside of clean install/uninstall?

I have NMM and Boss...I also used Wryebash and OBMM for Oblivian, but IMO the easiest seems to be NMM. I've had no problems yet...but bring new to modding, I look for the easiest solution, which seems to be NMM and Boss. It would be helpful if reasons were given as to why NMM is "garbage".

long story short: NMM breaks some mods by doing incomplete installs/uninstalls on occasion, which sometimes breaks skyrim and forcing you to reinstall. Mod Organizer keeps your skyrim install VERY clean, so it's easy to revert to vanilla and to debug. It offers better control over your mods in general by keeping things very compartmentalized.

The ability to switch profiles allows you to compare mods easier as well. You can have one profile load up a set of mods, then another one with another set and compare the 2 to see which one you like better without having to install/uninstall all the crap over and over again.
