Whats Wrong With My Scanner????

I have a Visioneer OneTouch 8800 USB scanner running under Win XP PRO and all of a sudden when I try to scan something the background is gray.... And the copy is lousy. This seems to happen no matter what settings I use. The scanner is using PaperPort 7.0

Any Ideas?

Forgot to mention all drivers are up to date.
 
At work now, but will try when I get home. Didn't even think of this one.
