whats wrong with my MSI K7T Turbo???

I had my abit kt7a-raid running perfect at 10 x 142 1420Mhz (tbird 1200) but i was at the computershow today and could not resist the msi k7t turbo (non raid) for $113. I come home hook it up and i can only chose 12 or 12.5 as the multipier. what going on. never had a problem on the kt7a. all the l1 bridges are closed. any ideas on whats going on?

You'll have to wait for a BIOS update to have the option to choose lower-than-default multipliers.

What's so shocking about that? The Anandtech review mentioned this before, apparently MSI did not include the already finished BIOS to the final product, but it will be available as a BIOS update. Also, since the MSI requires a jumper to go to 133MHz mode, you will not be able to lower multiplier and run at 133MHz to get the same clock speed(like changing from 10x100 to 7.5x133), but a simple workaround is to connect the L6 bridges.

I consider the K7T Turbo the ultimate board, but Im sure 99% of the people will disagree with me so Im not going to bother making a rebottle.

i was just doing some more testing. on my abit the chip woll post at 1520 but crash loading windows. the msi will not post at 1500 and crashes loading windows at 1400.

oh. well, maybe it will be different in future bios revisions and i still have the abit kt7a.
