Service Engine, Check Engine Soon

I think thats it. I'll be sure to write it down, I totally forgot to this time. It happened, then 2sec later car started.

Do you have a lot of keys and or other stuff on your key chain so that it weighs a LOT?

Excessive weight on the ignition switch from to many keys and "Stuff" can cause the switch to go out!

I had something similar like that happen to me. Now I know nothing about cars so I had no idea what the problem was. However, I found out that whenever it wouldn't start if I put it from Park to Drive, then back to Park again, it would start.

Does that make sense?

Again, it's normal for all those lights to be ON. He was saying to turn the ignition on, so the lights come on.. They should be nice and bright. When you turn the key one more notch, to start it.. They should dim considerably.

When the problem happens, check to see if they go dim when you turn the key to start it. If they don't, it will give us ideas as to where the problem is.

Alrighty, yea I know those lights are usually on, but didn't know if they would be when you are turning over the engine or not.

That's what happens when you don't take the time to read every post and skim through them all quick.

Sorry

I am suprised no one has mentioned heat soak yet.

When does this happen? is it after you drive somewhere, shut the car off, do something, then come back? Or is this when the car is left overnight?

It happens when the car is off for 1hr to 3hrs. It happens the most in the sunlight, but again it happened at 8pm mid 60s in a mall parking lot. Hasnt happend over-night yet though.

Do you have a single or dual postive cable(s) ?

If your talking about battery cable, single. On the battery, there are two spots to connect the positive cable though, same with negative, but that design is just for different cars and cables I presume.
