What's wrong with EA?

The problem with BF2 is that it should ship with its own customized PC just so you don't have those kinds of problems...they should develop a system that's finetuned for it....just like a console and its games are hardware specific.

I've had minimal problems. Sometimes I'll get teamkills when I never fired a shot, sometimes I'll get team vehicle damage also when I never fired a shot....(when using anti aircraft guns) Other than that, the glitches happen, but they're very minimal. Just make sure you have the latest patch and if you continue to have problems....reinstall. It's solved a lot of issues for a lot of people. You could even have drivers corrupt in your base OS...

Malak, what a lot of people are trying to say is that EA are not innovative and they are immoral (which I agree with).

If EA were the only games developer/publisher, we'd all be playing space invader 2008 with new updated real martian names!

They buy up really good games developers and put them under immense pressure to release games rather than give them a creative lisence.

To top it all off, they use 'smart' business practices to eliminate the competition rather than concentrate on what they are releasing.

Your attitude of 'it's fine for me so it's fine for you' is worrying. Don't you care about anyone else?

I pre-ordered the damn thing. I played it since day 1. Trust me, I play it. I just don't have games crashing on my computer left and right like other people, mostly because my system is well maintained.

They don't have guns to their heads. If people keep working for them, then I'll keep buying from them. It's not like I'm buying from Iran or something. I even had a friend go work for their sports division, never heard any complaints. Unless EA's employees quit in flocks or go on strike, I'll assume things aren't nearly as bad as everyone assumes. If it were as bad as some people have said, anyone would have quit. I just don't believe it.

I will continue to buy EA games because nearly every single one I've gotten has been enjoyable and worth playing, which I can't say the same for half the other companies out there. I don't ever want to buy from Valve, Blizzard, or Ubisoft.

Don't you care that their customer service is so obviously poor, apart for a fortunate minority?

Of course I care. Maybe you didn't read what I posted. As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't sound like it is nearly as bad as people think. If they care more about getting paid than getting treated right, then they must not mind the treatment that much.

And customer service? The only customer service I've talked with that was any good was Warner Bro's. The one company that truly treats their customers like crap and people take it is Valve, but you don't see anyone stopping from buying their games. Hell, Blizzard tried stealing money from me, and I don't even play their games!

It's not about he crashing. I rarely get a CTD. How about their horrible server browser? They finally added a favorites list but you can't sort within it. Pings still don't show up even remotely correct. How do other games come out with such good server browsers and the almighty EA comes out with this crap? In game, there are still problems such as:

Friendlies showing up as enemies.
AT rockets going through vehicles.
C4 bug where if you toss your last one, it switches to your detonator and sometimes instantly explodes killing me.
Mines sometimes just explode for no reason.
AA missiles still suck.
Blackhawk still is way overpowered compared to the MEC chopper.
(and these are POST 1.3 patch)

I guess the last two are not bugs but the point is that with some basic testing of the game, EA could have easily spotted these bugs. People even posted in the forums about the bugs they experienced in the demo. However EA decided that they would just release an unfinished game and have us test it for them. They got their money, what do they care?

It's called shovelware. Shovel it out and start making an expansion :roll:

1. Have only experienced once in over 80 hours of gameplay.
2. Never saw this happen.. If anything, it's because someone has a crappy ping to that server.
3. Have veteran explosives with C4 and never had this happen, ever. Maybe you are click happy..
4. Again, never seen this happen.. Closest is when they disappear after the engy had died and it's been XX minutes since then.
5. Maybe you suck at using them? I've killed plenty of air with them.

This happens in the industry, but EA has it down to an art. They don't care about their employees (Google for EA employee blogs) and they buy out what they can't beat.

EA is an enemy to creativity, innovation, and competition. But hey "smart" business practice should be rewarded! (While gamers suffer)

EA releases crap games, anything that's not Sim's or BF will drop to $20 a few months after it comes out. Then by the end of the same year, they will offer it in one of their mega boxes, with like 5-6 games for 20 bucks. Hopefully the Godfather game will be good, but I'm not holding my breath

I'm sorry, but if your job was as bad as everyone makes it out to be, you'd quit. People quit for less at Blizzard, and other companies. I think it's all exagerrated. Seems the employees care more about their wallets than where they work. That tells me something.

You go ahead and do what you want, but from my angle EA is generally a sure-bet for fun.

I wish I had a single EA game that got bad ratings.. then maybe I'd believe you. They sell more games than anyone, get good ratings, and I've enjoyed all mine. Doesn't sound like crap games to me.

It's been working pretty good for me ever since I first got it, around when CS 1.6 came out, during the beta period. I've never had any issues with it that prevented me from playing a game on it. Guess what? Others have. For one, the people trying to play a single player game where there is no internet. Guess what? Not everyone who has a computer has internet. And half the people that do are on dialup which is flaky. No company should require the internet for a stand-alone application. It requires nothing on the internet except some shaky application that slows load times for no apparent reason.

Speaking of which, benchmarks were put out when HL2 came out that proved Steam made the game run and load slower, a lot slower. All that for an application that downloads patches for you? Talk about a stupid good for nothing "convenience". To top it off, it can prevent you from playing. That's right! One time it told me Steam was too busy to let me play my damn game. I uninstalled HL2 shortly after getting it, almost threw the thing out. I will never buy another Valve game again. They gave me the finger, I closed my wallet.
