I can't believe they haven't taken down the servers or at least deleted the stupid hack...

It's not that late, wonder where the mods and everyone are... hopefully still on shift...

I doubt the mods have access to any back-end stuff. I would imagine some of the staff does and Zuni has probably been paged/called whatever. You gotta remember its a saturday night. :)

I mean that the mods haven't spoken as to what's going on... I know anand or zuni only have main access to the backend stuff, but I'm surprised neither have gotten on it yet...

Sure it's a saturday night, but they're computer nerds too ;)

The forum#, www# and subscriber# servers are Windows boxen that run IIS. The load balancers run Linux.

Moral: Just because you don't run windows doesn't mean you are safe. Security is YOUR responsibility!

You are right on that regard Paulson.

Looks like only the load balancers were hit.

Still enough to cause some confusion! :Q

I don't think that only the load balancer was hit, I think whoever the hacker was they didn't bother to block out all the sites, since most people aren't smart enough to know their's more than one way to access anandtech or the forums.

Yeah, hence the low number of users on the forums at the moment.
