What's with the weird game console commercials lately?

PS3, Wii...none of those commercials make me want to buy those consoles. If I was a parent and not up on tech, I wouldn't even know what they were lol. What's the deal?

Parents who have no idea don't care about the commercials. They only care about which console their kids are asking for.

Eh, that's true. I mean, I would buy a Wii anyway, but the PS3/Wii commercials are just plain strange. Oh well

Yup, I saw the PS3 one with the baby doll the other day with my wife and we basically looked at each other with a WTF? look afterwards. However, with everything that I've heard and seen about Sony in the past few months, this type of crap doesn't really surprise me.

Well with the Wii commercials it's more about showing anyone, young, old, family etc playing.

Which is what Nintendo wants. The PS3 commercials are totally WTF tho. Dont know what Sony is getting at.

I was wondering about the PS3 commercials..I know the PS3 is "superpowerful", so why are the commercial's effects most likely made on PCs and not a PS3 ?
