The Chair? The Chamber? Do TV producers think that American viewers are more sado-masochistic after 9-11? I just saw what the gist of The Chair was and walked away. My roommate is watching it now, and all I can hear is John McEnroe (yes, John McEnroe) saying things like, "let's see how he does in...THE CHAIR." "It's time to get in...THE CHAIR." Welcome back to...THE CHAIR." Etc, etc, etc. Bombs away. 😛
 
both suck...they are trying to make it like reality tv shows meet "who wants to be a millionaire". It wont last more than a week or so.
 
This is why the Christian thing about do unto others makes me laugh. We don't do anything to anybody that wasn't done and we don't feel we diserved that was done to us. The resason we are facinated by and will watch torture and all maner of horor is because we are dying to get well. Actually we're dying to stay sick, but we're dying to get well in a backward sort of way. We have all been through a consentration camp. We are facinated by them because we are magnitized by traumatic events in a way that makes us try to repeat them over and over again. We reliv our traumatic loss of love by going from lover to lover with all the emotional ups and downs so we can get close to the feelings, but without becomming conscious of them, (their origin). This is how we can become Nazis, to make somebody else feel what we felt.

Now THAT'S an idea! Roll with that--Round 1, you ask 39 questions and the contestant gets lashed for each wrong answer. Then in round 2, You gotta drag a cross up a hill while being jeered at by the guests and still answering stupid questions like "Are you the son of god?" Round 3 you get a nail for each wrong answer.
Oh, and the BONUS round: Crown of thorns if you screw that one up.
Then they stand you up on your cross YOU WIN!
 
This is just the first step in Hollywood going Japanese. Pretty soon, we'll all be watching really cruel game shows inspired by Japanese shows.

Still more humane than watching THE CHAIR! Tres pathetique.
