What's with the asian bias on here?

Why is everything on here Asian? Everyone's always talknig about Asian women, Asian cars, Asian TV shows (anime), Asian parents (apparently, they're not very good at showing that they care). I know there's a lot of Asian people on here, but I think there's 3 threads on the first page here about something Asian. Are the poeple starting these threads Asian? Do you have some need to stress the fact that your family is from Asia? I mean, it jsut seems like there's a LOT of Asian discussion on here..... you don't see a lot of people talking about white families or black TV.....

(Note: I'm not racist, I don't hate Asians, I jsut want to know what makes Asian discussions so prevelant on here)

<< you don't see a lot of people talking about white families or black TV..... >>

Maybe because nobody's tried to post a thread about white families or black TV! Seriously, if someone wanted to talk about their white family or black television, I don't think anybody is going to shut down the thread as long as it doesn't turn into a flame thread or cause serious, serious, serious concern with a vast majority of the users.

That's entirely the point.

Then you see my point. Why don't you post about white families or black TV to even out the asian vs. non-asian playing field?

Yeah, I"m guessing that most people here are White or Asian. If you go by the sterotype that Asians are computer nerds, it makes sense that a lot of them are here. Just like a lot of members here live in CA, and since a lot of CA is Asian...........

I notice that maybe 1/2 of the Asian related threads are started by Asians (they are a lot of questions or comments about the Asian perspective I notice)

The point isn't to start threads about people from different ethnic groups.... it's more of a question of why everything Asian must be specifically pointed out that it's Asian, so that everyone knows that it's Asian. Like the guy who walks past that girl in the hall... he felt the need to point out that she's Asian, rather than jsut saying she's shy. It seems that people always have to point out when someone/something is Asian.

In that case, with some of the threads, I can see why someone needs to be identified as Asian (or whichever ethnicity) in order for the post to make sense or objectify the subject, e.g. the one about guys going over to China to find a bride.. at least, I see there's more meat to the matter in doing so than leaving it out ("why do guys go to China...?" vs. "why do guys, even Asian guys, go to China...?"). I must have missed the thread about the girl but if all that was involved was her shyness, then 'd agree with you it was unncessary (doesn't clarify or add to the matter) to specify that she was Asian.

when the forum is dominated by Americans/Canadians, asians/caucasians/etc... then it is probable that you see more threads in regards to that. Common sense I would think tells me that. Another probability is that there are a lot of University folks on the forum as well, and there are quite a few asians (foreign exchange students from HK, China, etc) who go to American/Canadian Universities.

BTW, I'm asian too 🙂

But, we are making fun of the french, cannucks, and trailer park trash. Every culture has its idiosyncrasy.

As a friend of mine used to say, "I'm a black man trapped inside an asian body" 🙂

I'm asian as well, but have European blood.
