What's with the 4850 x2's?

Looking at certain Newegg.com and other Canadian sites, did Sapphire release a 4850 X2 with 2x512MB? It's advertised as 1GB, but there's no mention of that 1GB being multiplied by two and it's a lot cheaper than other 4850 X2's.

It is infact a 2x512MB version, for a total of 1GB. There's also a 2x1024MB version, for a total of 2GB.
