What's with pointless news?

Why do they air dumb stories like that Schaivo thing last month, or this bride who faked a kidnapping? These things only affect like 10 people, not any signifigant portion of anywhere and it's not even all that interesting. It's certainly not national news.

because that is what most dumb people want to see, and there are plenty of dumb people out there.

i say show me sudan and iraq, and updates on syria and north korea, where they all matter more than some woman with brain damage.

Because they are human interest stories. Too bad we're not interested in humans though. They should do reports of dying hard drives or missing laptops.

The news said Rupert Murdoch main competition is from the entertainment industry, so in order to compete we have to the plebian hordes what they want. We must package and sell the news the way toothpaste is sold.
