There's something that's really bothering me about muffins these days...
Why do the muffins break apart so easily? (I'm talking about Tim Hortons muffins specifically, but I assume it's the same with every other doughnut/coffee shop).
The muffins when I was a kid always had big glorious tops and a bottom that you could rip in half with your hands and butter without the thing crumbling into pieces.
I just bought a chocolate chip muffin and it fell apart while pulling off the wrapper around the bottom! I can't even begin to describe what an exercise in futility it was trying to butter the crumbs that ended up in my hands...
