what's with GTA3 & the GF3 Ti200?

I decided to see how my GF3 Ti200 would run GTA3 and I was surprised to see how badly it performs when compared to my GF4 MX440 (GTA3 on the MX440 is really smooth and fast). Image quality is also inferior when compared to the MX440, what's going on? Is GTA3 and the GF3 Ti200 just a bad combination?

I do know about the Windows XP problem but my gaming PC uses Windows 98SE so that's not an issue. There's no problems with crashing anything like that just really rubbish performance which I didn't expect after it performed so well on my MX440. Help?

I've got a Gainward GF3 Ti200 OCed to 220/500 on WinXP with the 29.42's.. and I can't run GTA3 smoothly on 1024x without having to turn off both Aniso filtering and anti aliasing all the way

I have a PNY Ti200 @220/472 and it runs GTA3 perfectly. 30-100 FPS constantly, NO AA, 1024x768 32 BBP, depending which area I'm in. I don't know about you but my Ti200 plays it fine.

GTA3 runs fine on my Ti200 @ 240/544 at 1024x768x32, even with full draw distance.

The worst problem is the stuttering I get with the GF3 Ti200 but not with my GF4 MX440 or GF4 Ti4600. IMO it almost seems like the GF3 is delivering a lower minimum frame rate and can't handle complex scenes as well as even my MX440. I'll have to try some of the older drivers to see if it's a driver related problem with the GF3!
