The man's a conflict in terms. On TV he's sickeningly corny and PC, Full House, America's Funnies Videos. On stage he's well known as being one of the more foul mouthed comedians around.

Does this guy have a split personality or something?

I really think his stage persona, the foul mouthed shocker, is over compensation for the career killer that was Full House. It surely paid the rent for a while, but Full House ultimately typecast him as a nice, corny, boring guy, so he has to over do the crass to make an impact.

I guess what I mean is if his stand up represents the type of individual he is, interesting, why would he choose to take on the TV roles he has, blow your brains out corny.

I saw him doing his stand-up on TV once awhile ago and to me it looked like he was trying too hard to be "dirty".... it didn't just seem natural.

South Park Season One forever burned the image I have of him in my brain.

I don't care what he says on his standup; He'll always be that Disney sack-licking douchebag from TV.

Well, he wasn't sent back in time from the past.

Apparently he was like that on the set of Full House too. There are out takes on youtube I think. One in particular I remember went like this:

Aunt Becky came from upstairs after talking to the girls in their room. She started to say her lines to Saget, but had a hair in her mouth. She stopped and laughed while she took the hair out of her mouth.

Saget: What were you doing up there?

Yea, apparently he is a real dirty guy. arent there some shows out there with him acting as himself... was it 'entourage' or 'curb your enthusiasm'??

EDIT: wow, a minute too late. *See above post*

The same reason as every other actor - money. Lots and lots of money.

Definitely this. Watched him on TV a while back with my ex because we thought it may be funny, but he was all over the place and just saying random "shocking" things. Not really funny at all.
