What's with all the Betty White nutswinging these days?

Do we really have this to thank for the resurgence of Betty White?

Seems as though you can't swing a dead Golden Girl without bumpin' into something Betty White is in these days.

It's just funny how one moment can rekindle what was once left for dead... sort of like the resurgence of Chuck Norris thanks to Conan's Walker Texas Ranger Lever.

You have to admit she is pretty awesome.

Once you get that old, I'm sure it's easy to be cantankerous and complain endlessly about every fucking thing under the sun.

Instead she is spry, witty and the first person to laugh at herself. We should all be so lucky.

Her SNL hosting was one of the best SNL's in a very long time. Stop hating OP.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves now. I'm not hating on her, just the notion that Hollywood (and the media in general) tosses her to the side and leaves her for dead. Then Snickers puts her in a commercial and all of a sudden she's hot stuff.

Uh? She's been all over the place the last few years, definitely not neglected.

She was pretty low-key in Hollywood until the 2010 Superbowl (mostly guest appearances as that "old lady") -- the Snickers Superbowl commercial put her back into super stardom.

After that commercial aired, Betty Mania went full tilt. Then she somehow became not just "an old lady", but some hip pop icon.

Tosses her aside? Growing up I first became aware of Betty White not because of anything she had done rather it was due to her being married to Allen Ludden and appearing regularly on Password and other game shows. The fact that she was able to move on from his death when she was 59 and go on to have a remarkable career in her own right right up to today at age 90 seems to me to indicate that the attention is warranted.

lol, no, it just wasn't. She stumbled through half her lines and non of the skits were actually funny. Even the scared straight skit sucked, and normally those are halfway decent.

I think people just think it's funny when really old people act ridiculous. To be honest I think it's sad because half of us are just laughing at her, not with her. Either way she is making bank, so I'm sure she is happy.
