The GT500 does not come with a 427. It has a 428ci engine, sorry.

And as far as the BOSS 429 being Fords best Mustang I would beg to differ and say the very rare 427 SOHC would be the one to look for.

Stallion is right about the GT500 having the 428 engine, and the ones in "Gone in 60 Seconds " are '68 models..I believe.

The 427 SOHC was never installed from the factory in any Mustang, but it is one hell of an engine.

I don't know the exact model, but I think it's the 1965 Mustang GT500, the car in GunSmith Cats. That car is just beautiful. Mmmmm.. GT500....

Bojo, I just saw aa show on speedvision last night about the 911 and all the derivities(sp) of it. It talked about the 959. I'm not evxactly sure about all the specs but it said it had 450HP, 0=60 in 4 sec , 1/4 mile in 11 something and would do 198MPH. Not sure if it was available to the public but they did mention it wasn't available in the USA. I also like the 930 Cabriolet.

Just incase some poeple don't know the mightyness of the 427 sohc engine.

Cammer is the name pinned to the little known, amazing engine produced by Ford starting in 1964. The 427 cammer was amazingly powerful. The secret behind
Chalmers factory rated 616 horsepower (@7500 RPM) with a single carburetor or 658 horsepower (@7500) with two carburetors, lies under the abnormally large valve
covers, namely, a single overhead camshaft. There's two camshafts in the 427-cammer (the reason this big V-8 can get to 7500 RPM).

Cammer

427 sohc fake ac cobra crappy pic but drool anyway

I don't think you could actually get one in any ford from the factory but my muscle car book seems to think you could get them in galaxies for a mear $2500 option. Btw Dove Engineering makes new ones for the sum of $25,000 or so and I have a galaxie hmmmm :p.

divinemartyr:
The F40 is still the best Ferrari ever produced. Screw the F50.

Whitedog:
I think you meant the 288 GTO. The homologation racer with 308's looks. Ferrari only made 2 cars with the GTO badging. The 250 GTO and the 288 GTO. The 250 is a nice classic. (can you say the most expensive car today?), the 288 is TO DIE FOR.

I'm sorry but I cannot choose one.

1. 1967 L-88 Corvette (Quite possibly the coolest classic 'Vette ever. These cars have dyno'd over 600HP from the factory....dear God!)
2. Any Yenko car
3. Any Baldwin Motion car
4. 1973 Pontiac Firebird Formula SD-455
5. Any "Swiss Cheese" Poncho from the early 60's

Certainly I'm forgetting others, but these come to mind right away.

I just read a copy of a British Classic car magazine (forgot what it's called).
Somebody offered 5,000,000 Pounds for a Ferrari 250 GTO, and it's not sold!!

That's like 7,500,000 US Dollars??

Darn. Some people really have money to burn.
