What's up with this city in Florida?

I was perusing the Florida coastline, looking for a particular place, and I ran by what looked like a crop circle zoomed way out. My curiosity got the best of me, so I zoomed in to this city, and to my surprise it looked like this. I thought it was very intriguing, and was wondering if there was anything interesting in this semi-circle city.

Just thought I'd share.

Whoa! Is your MS Streets and Trips old?

Mine is 2002 and shows a lot more streets in the area, but fewer parks and golf courses are displayed.

I had my aunt's address in the trip thing, and I didn't want anyone to see where she lives.

Mine is version 11.00.18.1900. I have no idea what year it is, but I think it's 2004. I don't necessarily have the retail CD....

The name is " Microsoft Streets & Trips 2002"

It's odd that mine shows more streets in the area than yours. MANY more as a matter of fact. WTF is up with that?

Now I;'ve checked two online maps, map quest and MS maps, and BOTH show no development to the south like my map does.

WTF x10??? Did they get rid of all that development???

Those streets ARE there. In the sat image, you can see the outlines of them. But they seem to be private drives rather than streets, and are not included in newer maps.

Still, a big WTF???
