Where do you see double barrel shotguns? 😕

"Military style" rifles, nightvision and laser sights are ordinary police equipment...nothing noteworthy.

Well, the rifles are typical police equipment, but usually they stay locked in the car and not carried. However, the double barrel shotgun is comical.

That would actually be less effective then a typical police carry pump action shotgun 🙂 2 shells without reload vs. 5-8 shells.

I corrected my statement earlier...it should have been short barreled shotgun...my fingers typed something different than what my brain was thinking...

I don't see a problem here. Please argue why gangs of minors should be roaming the streets without adult supervision at all hours of the night.

Is there a difference between roaming the streets and driving around? While in high school, I worked at a grocery store until 9-10 pm at night and then drove home which was about a 30 minute drive. Depending on how they feel, I could have been in violation of this curfew which is totally ridiculous.

We do not live in a police state. Your argument holds no water. I don't have to tell you why I'm out on the street after 9 pm. Maybe I wanted to walk to the 7-11 and get a coke. Maybe I wanted to drive to Taco Bell and pick up a burrito, its none of your business what I choose to do. You don't take away the rights of a group of citizens because of the actions of a few.

at least, thats the argument you'll get from people.

Personally, I moved out of my parent's house when I was 17 and went to college. There was no adult supervision there and I turned out ok according to many people.

if you are emancipated and legal adult go anywhere you want. Minors FORTUNATELY do not have the same rights as adults. Are you against child labor laws too?

what? what does child labor laws have to do with his post? he brings up a great point.

Helena

Hartford

They are not messing around in Helena...officers carrying military style rifles, double barrel shotguns, night scopes, laser sights, etc to curb the rash of crimes and violence...24 hour curfew has been in effect for a week...city council voted 9-0 to expand the curfew into any area of the city.

In Hartford, 3 separate shooting incidents (11 people were shot, one is dead)...30 day curfew goes into effect tomorrow night...

is this action appropriate to stem this tide of violence??

sorry...that should have been short barrel shotguns...

Among the curfew operation's arrests, 10 came from felony charges, including the arrest of two people carrying both drugs and weapons, Fielder said. The police chief said the officers in the field carry military-style M-16 or M-4 rifles, some equipped with laser sights. Other officers carry short-barrel shotguns.

Ah. Another standard item...

I bet they were wearing body armor too! :Q

😛

Regardless, I'm glad I don't live there- curfews aside, those towns look like hellholes..

i was just repeating what was in the article...🙂

Many of the recent shootings in hartford have involved minors as being victims. Over the weekend a 7 year old and a 17 month old were shot.

This was in a crowded street with many witnesses. So far not a single person has come forward to identify the shooter. Amazing.

This is the same city where cameras caputered a hit and run where passers-by just watched the man in the street and didn't even call the police. No one has yet come forward in that case either.

And, with all the people who constantly post crap about never talking to the police unless you have a lawyer present & are under arrest, etc., is it any surprise?

They have anonymous hot lines.... and these are innocent civilians getting shot not people caught up in criminal activity with something to hide.

Everything. Minors are not adults. They are subject to different laws and regulations than adults.

If only we could take the rights away from those damn adults too, we'd be set!
