What's up with the BF2 mods?

I take it that these are the 2 most popular mods for BF2. Any other mods that are popular or good?

Project Reality looks cool for the realism. Is the gameplay slower than regular BF2? Does it feel like an actual tactical simulation or is it basically BF2 with better ballistics and damage points?

Also, what is POE about? Is it just like BF2 with different kits/weapons? What does it bring to the table?

PoE has german/ukrainian units I think including weapons/vehicles, and european based maps, like rural farmlands, snowy areas etc...

I don't really like PR too much, I did like PoE but had a hard time finding a populated server when I was playing it.
The biggest thing I dislike about PR is the advanced kits setup, its such a pain in the ass getting them sometimes...

Seems to me like the mod tries to be realistic for realism's sake...

what's the fun in that? It's like choosing to clean up your garage as your friday night activity
(yes, I downloaded and played the game for about an hour and a half)

POE just came out with a new version recently (1.7 iirc) @ http://www.pointofexistence.com/. I haven't played the new version yet, but the old one was pretty fun.

I agree about Project Reality and the kits and other BS. I didn't enjoy it personally. Besides what's so realistic about having to beg in an imaginary circle for a "Pilot's Kit" anyway
