I don't know about you, but it seems like just about every other time I go to NewEgg the site won't work.

As an example I want to surf the CPUs, so I'll start clicking on a few links to check them out, and then after a few link clicks the site just hangs and won't load anymore.

I don't know about you guys, but ever since NewEgg has grown over the years their website reliability has really gone to crap...

So far I have waited over a month to use NewEgg to do some price shopping and in over a month still nothing has changed same old page loading problems...

Funny thing is if you are using FF3 and IE7 and just clear it out before clicking a link the site loads right away....

Sheesh.... :(

Have never had a problem with the Newegg site. I probably go on it several times a day and have never seen it down. Could be a routing issue with your ISP.

There is no problem here, because if there was any type of routing issues, etc., then I'd encounter them at other sites as well...

NewEgg is the only site I have problems with...

So you know of other sites sitting on the same exact router as Newegg? Just because you can get to other sites doesn't mean you don't have a routing issue. We can live right next to each other yet have 2 different routes to a server. Not saying this is the issue since there are so many other things it could be but you can't rule it out just because you can get to other sites.

Sounds like what you are talking about is more of a DNS resolution issue...

Please explain what you mean, if you're talking about hops....

DNS is name resolution. Routing tables is what I am talking about.

I know DNS, ok....

Anyhow I see what looks like a bad hop to my ISP on a tracert, so I'm going to contact my ISP and see what's going on...

THANKS

P.S. The thing is I didn't think to do a tracert before because all the sites I've been surfing for the past 6 months have been fine except NewEgg....

Thats the point of routing tables though. For different sites a router may have a different routes since they are behind different routers.

See now whoever said You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink, was wrong. Drink baby drink.

Well I am a geek, it's just that when only one site gives you a problem, and then it's not loading after you've surfed around it for a few mins. at first you're not really thinking about routing, rather, just looking at the server you're trying to connect to...

Anyhow I'm going to talk to my ISP and see if there are some issues here with them or not...

FYI, if you signed up for the newegg promotion don't open it up this time. It wants a username and password and the popup box is uncloseable

Yeah I noticed this today also. If you hit cancel a couple times it goes away, but the images don't load.

What's up with that? I thought it was some kinda phishing thing. I had to close and reopen OE and delete it when the "not closed down correctly" message didn't let it load.
