I use TXU dsl and when I am on my Dell downstairs, every site works, every game works. However, when I move the box up to my self-built AMD comp, many sites don't load and WC3 battle.net doesn't work. Both computers use Zone Alarm Pro. About a week ago,everything loaded on the AMD too I don't know what happened. Any ideas??

Do you have an account that allows for more than "one computer?"
Most Terms of Service only provide one address (more addresses = more money).
Some ISPs will accept the first MAC address that registers as "the" address and will not accept another PC.
If that's the case, then you'll need to front-end you two PCs with a home router (SOHO router). The router will appear to the ISP as a single machine, but allow you to use multiple PCs using a private, internal address. If your ISP locks on the first registered address, most / all SOHO routers will allow you to spoof that address on the ISP-side of the router so the system thinks it's still talking to the registered box.

Wait and see what Jack puts up, then we can get some more info from you, if necessary, and tkae a whack at it.
Ultimately, I believe your best option will be to put in a SOHO router. It's better protection and will remove some of the processing burden that a direct Internet connection is placing on your systems.
The software firewalls may be blocking unwanted traffic, but it's taking CPU time to do so and can negatively impact the performance of your boxes (depending on the traffic & such).

1. Keep the DSL centrally alive and get rid of the Bizarre Software schemes that keep it alive for one computer.

2. DSL Connection is very sensitive to MTU Settings. Make sure that all the computers has the TCP/IP Stack optimized for DSL.

I am still having connection problems with winamp, the I keep needing to buffer every few minutes, however the percentage never moves up but if I manually click play again the songs will continue. Another problem is with games. When I play something like Warcraft 3, am able to see the game list, join a game, sometimes keep a connection after entering a room (seems to be the point where I lose connection), and never stay in a game after it starts for more than a minute. Any ideas?
On a side note, the tips that Jack has given be has really improved my connection. Seems to be much faster load times. Thanks a ton!
Another thing, it seems that when my surfing capabilities cease, WinAmp still finds a way to work...however, if I try to do anything connection related, WinAmp reverts to the buffering state..but once again, a quick click of "play" makes it work again. Strange.

Uninstall Zone Alarm if you haven't already and see if that makes any difference. Might have been a setting that for changes and is screwing with things.
How are the computer connected to the line? Do you disconnect one to plug in another, is there a router in play, ICS through the first computer...?

I haven't tried uninstalling Zonealarm but disabling it doesn't really make a difference. Well My comp is connected to the modem box through a 10/100m Lan cable, then the box is connected to the wall jack. In order to get internet access from my AMD, I do have to unplug everything and move it upstairs. Most of the time, everything works but games definitely don't.
