What's up with McCain/Palin rallies?

It occurred to me while watching rally clips on CNN that while Obama audiences tend to politely applaud and sometimes even cheer, McCain supporters hoot, boo, scream obscenities and generally carry on like trailer park Springer audiences. Is it that republicans attract lower-class supporters or is it the content of the rhetoric, which for McCain/Palin seems to be angry and negative that elicits this response? Not sure but it makes it hard to identify myself as a McCain supporter.'
