I'm 23 years old and in good health, But I can't reach my toes when I stretch down. I get to about mid-shin. My buddies say that its bad health not to be able to. Is it? And if so why? And how would one fix it so they can?

I really don't see how thats 'bad health' though. I've never heard of some one dying from a groin pull or something.

Its not 'good' to not be able to fly a plane either. But unless you're a pilot, its not bad either.

I'm 27 and I can barely touch my knees when I bend over. It's my back that won't let me at first, but if I stretch a bit, then I can get about mid/upper shin before the back of my legs feel like they just caught fire. I've always been poor at this particular stretch, even when I took karate for a year and could do a full side split, I could never touch my toes.
