So i am tracking my package:

What does "Package not due for delivery mean"

The originating location is about 20 miles from my house

The location it is now sitting at is about 10 miles from my house

Why dont they just deliver it rather than keep it there for 3-4 days

Who said they're keeping it?

It just means they have it, but it's not due. If you have a library book, that is due next week, it's not due. Now, if they can, they will deliver it sooner. In most cases, they do

It means just that...it isn't scheduled for delivery until X date, so until then, it's not going to be delivered (unless the fedex person wants to deliver it early).

Edit: You might be able to call and pick it up on Monday..

it came in on friday @5:40pm. since fedex doesnt do home delivery(except for overnight, i think) on weekends, it wont go on the truck until monday.

Well - i was curious since on the same day it said - "On FedEx vehicle for delivery" - which got my hopes up 🙁

Had the same thing happen to me a few days ago. It was "on the truck for delivery" but then returned to the facility because it wasn't due until the next day. I was stoked too, thinking that I'd get it early but all my hopes and dreams were crushed by the corporate juggernaut that is FedEx.

Hooray.

However it might not really be a day early...often times for me the website will show a certain date, but the package will show the delivery date a day earlier.

Speaking of FedEx...They lost a $105,000 check the other day! I don't know why, but my new mortage company sent my old mortgage company the payoff through FedEx...Well any ways it was lost! It caused me so much extra redtape (like I don't have enough already) Good thing I happened to call my old mortgage company for something else, and I found out...otherwise when would I have known? When it was too late?
