when did they decide to not be open on easter?

nother group of industrialists . bending over for the religous fanatics

That or they realized business would be slow and a lot of their employees would be grateful to be at home?

A lot of us celebrate Easter in this country, but being closed today wouldn't be bending over for anything. It'd be acknowledging that most of the potential customers wouldn't be coming in the store and it would be cheaper to keep the doors locked.

I'm no christian, but I'm certainly glad to be off for easter. I can't possibly blame a company for letting their employees off for a popular holiday while I enjoy my own day off for the same holiday.

Which begs the question: Did YOU work today OP?

We were closed today. Easter is slow. Deal with it. 417 post and you start a religion bashing thread? Is monty back under another name?

Grow up. Do you whine like this when stores close for Christmas?

It's a popular holiday and most people are off doing things with their families. It's a family holiday, not a shopping holiday like father's day or memorial day. There's no point in being open.

I went over to Petsmart to donate some leftover food to an adoption agency (I moved a couple of cats from kitten to adult food a couple of weeks ago, as recommended by a vetinarian). Petsmart was open, but Target was closed.

I'm sure you're right. BB would rather be open but were forced by religious mind-controlling zealots to be closed instead. There's no chance that they might have weighed the pros and cons of being open on Easter and come to the conclusion on their own that it would cost more to be open than it would to close.

I don't know why anyone would close on Easter. People like to shop on Holidays. Everywhere that I went today was pretty busy.

And what's up with no more double fish fillet sandwiches at McDonald's?

It's a religious conspiracy, I tells ya! 😛

The part that I loved was when I'd be working at Walmart on holidays, and I'd hear customers talking about how the poor employees have to work on holidays and how it's not fair that they have to do that.

They apparently failed completely to see the amusing contradiction in what they said.

if they stayed open they'd have to pay time and half, maybe it's because they don't wanna come out of pocket? My boss would have loved for me to work today, but he worked instead because he's to cheap to bump my pay for holiday hours 🙂

Well if they could make even the slightest bit of positive income after holiday pay and other overhead costs then they would be open.

If your boss can do your job without you and get by then you have to wonder whether you're actually necessary or if you're just saving him from doing work he'd rather not do.

That doesn't say much for your job security BTW.

You are such an ass. I work retail and I am very thankful to have had today off.

No one likes to work on holidays, especially when people like you are bound to come into the store and make our lives miserable.
