So you don't listen to it because a lot of people do?

That's the dumbest thing I've heard today. Thanks.

<< YOu can leave creed out of that group - at least they have had 3+ hit albums.

New groups that are coming out, that are overexposed, overplayed, and most of they are destined to be one-hit-wonders:
POD (been around for about a year, but they still suck)
Jimmy Eat World
Puddle of Mud
Hoobastank
Staind (too played out)
NickleBack
Trik Turner

New groups? Please, take some astroglide and remove your head from your a$$.

I can understand bands like Nickelback, Puddle of Mud, and Staind being on there but how did u you get Jimmy Eat World grouped in there. !! I can't really say Jimmy Eat World is overexposed, at least not in corporate america. they have a huge following though despite not having had a "radio hit" until now. That takes talent. Overplayed, maybe. I don't really listen to the radio that much so I dunno, but they were recently on SNL. but with any band, be it they have talent or not, if they have a single out and it gets on the radio, most likely it's being overplayed. Totally not their fault. I'd just like to say that with the past albums. they were NOT overplayed and their music was just as good then if not better. One-hit wonder: i think not. If you'd take the time to listen to the rest of their albums you'd understand this. Maybe it's just not your type of music but for people who enjoy it, they are most certainly not a one-hit-wonder. and i can assure you there will be more heard from jimmy eat world.

So yeah, do some research before you start claiming something like this. I can totally understand where you are coming from with the other bands, but what band does Jimmy Eat World sound like? I think they have their own unique sound and I just don't get your opinion. Maybe if you backed it up I could understand better but serioulsy, it's a disgrace to see Jimmy Eat World grouped wiht those other bands.

(sorry, i really like this band!!!! hehe)

<<Most of those groupes are NOT new, you just heard about them so you thnk they are new. Jimmy eat world has been around for years and so has hoobastank. The radio and mtv says they are new so everyone thinks they formed yesterday.>>

Exactly. I saw nickelback in concert 4 years ago. Default has been around almost as long. They've always had a "garage band" following here in Vancouver, but have only made it big with their latest albums. I remember most people raving about the "new" Nickelback song Worthy to Say, despite the fact that it had been released 2 years before it got a lot of radio play.

Though I am a fan of Staind, I can live with it in your list b/c i agree. But how the hell did you put Jimmy Eat World on your list? That's just f***ed up. They have their own style, and they've been around for a while. You need to listen to some of their music that's not on the radio.

This past year has indeed been full of really mediocre bands and music.. but there are a few which I think can hold their own:

The Strokes
Bad Religion (still rock after all these years)
Disturbed
Linkin Park (yes, corporate rock but they know how to work what they have)
System of a Down
Jimmy Eat World
The White Stripes
Weezer

There have been quite a few good releases over the last year. Guess it depends on what type of music you listen to. But, I'd have to say that if you can't find something on MTV or the radio that you like, try picking up something new. Try some Galactic or Sound Tribe Sector 9. Maybe go get John Scofield's latest, or enjoy some Lake Trout. Fearless Flying Frog Brigade for the Claypool fans, or the New Deal for electronic jam music. Pick up some older jazz. Try your ear at bluegrass or folk. Do something because by the way you talk, you don't like what you're listening to now.
