The system restore allows you to return to a previous state on your PC, like before you installed your new Radeon drivers and tanked your system. Some people shut it off because it?s a resource hog, and doesn't always work.
The System Restore program that your talkin' 'bout once set takes like snap shots of your setup and can use up to approx half a gig of hard drive space. I've tried ME and found that its not worth it. 98SE has some nice system tools that ME sacrifices to give you no Real DOS and System Restore. A lot of older software won't work on it as well as some hardware.
