I got a decent story.
Back in my senior year of HS I somehow managed to make friends with a babe.
She was from Guyana, (HOT!), long black hair and nice curves.
I knew I never had a chance with her, but one day during trig she asked me for a ride home after school. Met her dad and little sister.
Gave her a ride almost every day for a month. We talked about stuff and things and I realized that if you dont constantly think of boning them, then girls can actually be pretty good buddies. (Kind of like before puberty.)
Anyway, once when it was getting close to christmas she asked me for a ride to the mall after school one day. I took her over and we went into the JC Penny. She said she had to go try on some skirts and wanted me to do her a favor.
(Cue ominous music.)
Could I please take her Estee Lauder cold cream over to the counter with the reciept and get a refund? Only used it once and didnt like it.
Please?
OK sure cuz I'm a guy and have no brains and yur pretty and I want to do anything that makes you happy cuz you might hook me up with one of your beastly friends someday if I kiss your pretty butt.
Anyway, I took her stuff and walked over to the counter and handed it to the nice lady.
"Excuse me miss, my friend had to go do some stuff and she wanted me to return this item for her. She only used it once and didnt like it. Can she get a refund? Heres the papers."
She takes the cold cream and says "sure let me go do something first".
5 minutes later she comes back.
"Sir, this isnt Estee Lauder cold cream. This is Jergens thats been in the fridge overnight."
Me: "Huh?!?"
"Yessir, she used up all of our product and then put Jergens in there.
You need to tell her she cant do that and then return it."
Dumbass: "OK, thanks ma'am."
About 500 hours later she finally gets done with skirts and blouses and everything and she finds me on the bench by the Orange Julius. Told her what happened and she played dumb, not to mention angry.
I just looked at her.
I could understand her lying to me if she were my girlfriend.
But we were pals, there was no purpose in that.
So thats when I learned to not take everything women say at face value.
Up to that point my cousins and mom and aunts and friends never lied to me, but thats because they didnt need to. It served them no purpose.
Stopped giving her rides and helping her with trig. In fact the last quarter of school I didnt even see her. Dont know what happened.
For those of you who wondered why I even bothered being nice to this girl I'll tell you.
(This is not something that I share often, so please be nice.)
Once when we were sitting around at the local pizza place we got into a conversation about our plans after school. She made it clear she didnt know what she was going to do with her life and was a little scared.
I told her all about my plans to join the Navy and be a nuclear reactor operator and see the world and get 40 grand for college and have a big house in the hills one day and all that good stuff.
She looked at me and said: "Wow! You're really gonna be sombody."
Now listen closely folks because this is important:
When you're 17 and cant play sports and dont get straight A's and arent even allowed to hang out with the nerds and the punks think you're too dull and the goths think you're too "brainwashed" and and the teachers think you're going nowhere and a beautiful girl says "Your gonna be somebody", then, well, I cant describe it.
You actually have to be there to understand.
Suffice to say she did break my heart, but as many of us who survived High School know: Life goes on.
