Dimetapp is the best tasting ever. Back in the seventies, Dimetapp was 20% alcohol and mixed with grape flavour. A kid could get hammered on that stuff.

I had grand-mal seizures as a toddler, and I had to take this white shit through a syringe. Tasted like.. well... very sour shit is about as close as I can get. It's one of my strongest memories from that time period.

This one time about two years ago I took some cephalexin without water, as I usually do. Apparently, one of the pills got stuck in my throat, because about 15 min later, I let fly with a really long burp, which led to me burping up a cloud of this moldy tasting crap. It was pretty disgusting.

hydrocodone/guafenison cough syrup... stuff tastes terrible.

tussionex (hydrocodone/clerphenermine) syrup however tastes like orange soda

same thing with promethizine VC Codeine syrup, it tastes even better... you can drink it right out of the bottle and actually enjoy the taste.

anyway, i forget what it was, but it was some painkiller i had after my mouth surgery. it was a syrup and it tasted horrible.

Zicam chewables are really really bad as well.

I see none of you have had the pleasure...or displeasure of ever having Mucomyst(generic name acetylcysteine) It smells and tastes like rotten eggs. We just it for tylenol overdoses, clearing OET/NET tube of mucus in intubated patients(which is worse cuz it renders the medicine aerosol furthering the smell), and to protect your kidneys when using certain kinds of IV contrast dye. Just giving the stuff to my patients I have to hold my nose from the smell alone.

Easily the worst medicine I can think of to ingest. Hell I hate giving it to my patients just cuz of the smell alone

I didn't think it worked all that well either. I tried it on the recommendation of a friend that swears by it.

Kid's oral antibiotics. White liquid with "grape flavor" or something like that, but the base is so awful, that no reasonable amount of "grape flavor", chocolate powder, honey, sugar, etc., is enough to cover it up (especially for a kid's sensitive taste).

Plug the nose, put it in far back in the mouth, follow with water/juice, and hope they get better quickly..

worst for me was Milk of Magnesia and Mineral Oil. Used to take those when I was younger. Mineral Oil has no taste, but the texture is completely dreadful.

Haven't had any of the pre-surgery vomit-inducing solutions yet, but I expect those would trump any thing I had had before.

I can attest to Phenergan (the third one above, Promethazine + Codeine) tasting pretty damn good. It may have actually been the secret ingredient to the flaming homer.
