what's the worst movie you've ever sat through?

Godzilla. The one with Broderick.

*EDIT* I guess I misinterpreted the OP. Godzilla is the worst movie I ever sat through in a theater. I've seen much worse at home.

In recent memory it has to be The Wicker Man, man what a pile of shit movie that was.

I just kept hoping it'd someone get better, but it only kept getting worse 🙁

Hands down, the worst movie ever made, American Adobo. Holy Hell- has anyone else seen this atrocity against cinema?! I saw it in the theater and 20 min in I thought I was dying.

Syriana, Ocean's 12, Ocean's 13, and some movie I watched with my parents at 2 am about a plane hijacking. I have no idea who was in it, but man, it was awful.

Most recently, though, was Wanted. That movie sucked ass.

seriously...how can so many A-list actors (at the time) make such crap?

Yeah, that movie sucked. I think the other actors heard Chevy Chase was in it, and not realizing that he pretty much sucked at that point, thought it would be a good idea to be in a movie with him.

I see ATOT's "I hated that movie that other people liked, so I'm going to call it the worst I've ever seen" effect is in order. There's a lot of movies I'm seeing named, which I don't even like myself but I wouldn't consider anywhere close to the worst movie I've seen.

unbearable lightness of being...showed up with family (I was a junior in high school)...very uncomfortable movie considering the reviews at teh time.

Aliens vs. Predator Requiem. No one gives a rat's ass about the people, and the fighting was all done in the shadows. A total POS movie. I had fun making smartass comments all the way through it though.

The Hulk (2003)

This was pure shit. The new Hulk movie was so much better, especially the fight scene. That was unbelievable.

In any case, I always check IMDB and RottenTomatoes before I watch a movie.

In a theater, or at home on DVD?

In a theater- probably Congo- saw it because I was a big Bruce Campbell fan and a big Michael Crichton fan... but the movie sucked and Bruce died in the first 3 minutes. Lame.

Honorable mention goes to Wing Commander, I saw it just to see the Star Wars ep 1 trailer. The trailer was good though, and as bad as Wing Commander was it was better than Congo.

The Thin Red Line is the only movie I have ever fallen asleep after watching it for an hour in the theater, slept for an hour, and woke up to find the movie still had like an hour left to go. The parts I was awake for was more interesting than Congo though, so it's not the worst movie... Though, since I missed the middle of the movie I guess it doesn't even count as a movie I sat through.

Indiana Jones 4 and The Happening were both very bad a disappointing, but they weren't nearly as bad as the above bad movies.

As far as at home, on Netflix:

Lust, Caution- another one that put me to sleep
Less Than Zero- aptly named, I think I was really bored that day otherwise I would have turned it off
The Godfather III- I only forced myself to watch it because the previous two were so good.

I watched Joe vs the volcano one time, the girl who picked it out ended up fast forwarding through the last half of it.

Went to see meet joe black in the theater (with the same girl) and fell asleep. Brad pitt gets hit by a car and the its 3 and a half hours of snooze after that.

Syriana was awful.
