:Q... hey med school students have 100k loans... :D

Well my friend's boyfriend used his school's financial aid money on his car... he used Ameridebt to consolidate his 4-5k bills... and now he just got a new credit card and is on his way to maxing it out... he only pays the minimum amount and then it gets eaten by interest so he's practically going nowhere

One of my clients had $69,000 on credit cards alone, not including house, student loans, etc!

Public, national debt is not personal debt. They are different. Take an econ 101 class.

I stand by my point as the thread did not specify what type of debt. Someone's gotta to pay this debt off eventually.

let's see.....

my house: 116k
my student loans: 10k
car: 17k
fiancee's student loans: 30k

That's a lot of debt.

[edit]But besides the car, it's what I would consider "positive" debt.

The debt clock is even more amazing and sad.
The debt clock.

The country's debt is very small in comparison to our anual GDP. A person buying a 200,000 home making 60,000 a year is in a much worse situation that the US is with its national debt. Besides, the nation's debt is owed to US citizens, as more and more of the debt is owed outside the country we should become more concerned.

Speaking about the national debt as a "bad" thing shows ignorance.

My friends x-wife was one of those that had to keepup with the "Jone's".Not sure what the final tally was,I'd guess around a 100k.

All debt, including mortgages, cars, credit cards, etc.? Well over a million then. I've seen people with over $400k in credit card debt alone. Scary. You print out the credit report and it just goes for page after page after page of open accounts with high balances.

Serious Debt? How about when some poor bastard gets in over his head with a Shylock.
