What's the worst average midterm grade for a class you've seen?

Today, our class scored an average of 56/100 .... I think that's the worst I've been a part of. What about you guys?

I had one that was pretty low(high 50s IIRC) for a bullsh!t accounting class I had to take. Imagine trying to teach a bunch of tech-heads corporate accounting(even though it was supposed to be basic accounting, the professor though since we'd probably be working in the corporate world, why not teach them corporate accounting). The only reason most of us passed the class was because grading was curved and she "accidentally" copied a key to one of our 3 semester tests to the test.

oh man, my freshman chem class got some averages in the 40's, i think the mudd profs took perverse pleasure in knocking us down a peg.

32/100 was an A in one of my chem classes. Had probably the worse professor/teacher i've ever had.

Don't know about the worst but my Calc AP class has a mid-term average of 95%+

One programming class the average was in the 40s on all of the exams. On a calc exam the average was 54 and a 44 was still a C.

56/100 isn't bad at all. I've seen a 21/100 in a physics class where I got a 15 (still got an A thx 75% points in final exam). In an embryology course I took, the average on the first midterm was 39/100 and the class was not curved (50%=F). I'd say the average for half of the science related courses I've taken has been less than 50 on at least one exam.

haha, yeah, that class SUCKS grade-wise. My prof crammed an entire quarter's worth of information into one class period, EVERY class period.

On my last discrete math test the average was 65 but I got a 95 so I'm doing good there. The worst I've had was my chem class was around 50/100, I hated that class.
My friends programming class had an average of 97 and he got a 96 so that was a BC. Bad luck there.

I had a class once where the average was in the 20s; another where the top score was 55/100.

everyone in my second year math class had an F going into the final. he curved it up eventually so there was one A and plenty of C's ... but that was horrible.

i think the average midterm score in my CS classes was something in the high twenties (out of 100). it was funny cuz there were always plenty of 1's. you get one point for writing your name on the test!! hahahaha

19/100 ~ Physics 2 with Calc 2 @ UF second exam..

Our overall grading scale in the class was just as fvcked up..

15% D, 30% C, 50% B, 70% A..

There were very few A's..

Our professor would ask 6-8 questions on an exam while each would require applying almost all of the equations that we learned for the entire exam.. They would have shortcuts in them that would allow them to be solved in a few minutes - but they were very hard to find and required doing everything in the exact right order.

I got a 48% C in that class.. :(

EDIT: LOL.. I remember one that was even more fvcked up. The math department at UF is crazy.. Some professors will have an A average and others will have a D average.. There is no requirement for a professor to have a curve in that department for some reason.

I had a really tough DiffyQ professor during a 6-week summer semester course. There were 35 people there the first day and 30 people the second.. Then, on the last day to drop the course which was also our third exam, the class had gotten down to 7 people, including me.. I ended up dropping the class.. So, out of 35 people, there were potentially 6 that passed. I think I should get my goddamn tuition back for numbers that sh!tty.
